Hanna Hegenscheidt

Hanna Hegenscheidt is a dancer, teacher and choreographer. She studied in Hamburg and New York before moving to Berlin in 2005. As a performer she has worked with Robert Wilson, Gina Gibney a.o. in New York and Reinhild Hoffmann, Achim Freyer, Michaela Fünfhausen, Two Fish a.o. in Germany. She is a certified teacher of Klein-Technique and a Laban-Movement Analyst (CMA). She teaches daily classes at the studio LaborGras or Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin and Workshops elsewhere in Germany.
Hanna has also been involved in the project TanzZeit – dance in schools – for several years and has created two works with teenagers from different cultural backrounds for the Staatstheater Münster and the Cactus Theater in Münster.
In 2004 she founded her own pick-up company, collaborating with actors and dancers in New York and Berlin. Since then she has created six pieces, which have been presented at DTW’s Freshtracks, Dance Space’s Out Of Space Series, the West End Theater, Dance@ 8 acres and others in New York and Vermont and at the Tanztage Berlin, Sophiensaele, Radialsystem V, fabrik potsdam, Schwankhalle Bremen, Kampnagel Fabrik Hamburg, Villa Warsawa in Warsaw and the Yorkshire Dance Festival in Leeds/England. She just premiered her new duet Bitte sreicheln Sie hier at the Uferstudios in Berlin and will premiere a new group piece in the fall 2011 at Sophiensaele Berlin.  www.hannahegenscheidt.de
