After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon for contemporary dance in 1992, Odile Seitz worked with the Compagnie Dominique Bagouet in Montpellier and with Luc Bondy in Berlin’s Schaubühne in “The hour when we didn’t know anything about each other“ by Peter Handke. From 1995 to 2001 she worked with various choreographers such as Bernard Glandier, Odile Duboc, l’association les Carnets Bagouet, Olivia Granville, Frédéric Gies and Frédéric De Carlo. In 1995 she choreographed a duet in collaboration with Frédéric Gies and in 2000 she created and danced a solo, “Femme debout“. She also got the dance teacher diploma in France. In 2000, she moved to Berlin and worked with Christoph Winkler until 2003. Since 2002, Odile teaches dance to professional dancers and to children in various schools and performs with musicians. In 2005, she began the Body- Mind Centering education and became Somatic Movement Educator in 2008. In 2005, she is one of the co-founders of Praticable, together with Alice Chauchat, Frédéric de Carlo, Frédéric Gies and Isabelle Schad. In 2008 she worked in the project of Frédéric Gies “Dance“ (Praticable), group version, which premiered at the Sophiensäle in Berlin. She created the piece The Partners (Praticable) together with Frédéric de Carlo as first part from others praticable’s pieces in 2008 and as complete piece in 2010.
In 2010-2011 she was the artistic director of the realisation of “Dance (Praticable)” with teenagers in the fabrik in Potsdam. She coached the choreographer Annick Pütz for her solo “Seuils” in Turin and Luxemburg and danced in the theater piece of Werner Fritsch Dieser Augenblick, realised from Sven Walser in Schauspielhaus Bochum. Now she is making the last part of the Body-Mind Centering education as practitioner and works on a new piece with teenagers from “Dance” in the fabrik Potsdam.
